LumaFusion 1.7 – Now With Story Blocks Integration

LumaFusion v1.7 is the latest update of Luma Touch’s iOS in-phone editing app. One of the major changes is integration with Storyblocks.

With decades of experience as editors (remembering all that was painful about traditional editing workflows), Luma Touch developed an app featuring some of the most professional video editing features available on iOS. This powerful multi-track video editor has been a favourite with iPhone-wielding mobile journalists, filmmakers and professional video producers for some time.

And now they’ve partnered with a royalty free content library.

“Partnering with Storyblocks is the most recent manifestation of Luma Touch’s vision of bringing a sophisticated, quality and professional caliber content creation experience to mobile filmmaking.” Luma Touch.

The updated app now delivers new templates, updated navigation and interface controls and support for more file types.

Cost

Storyblocks for LumaFusion is available at an annual subscription rate of $69.99 or at a monthly rate of $9.99.

The LumaFusion iOS app is $19 on the App Store.

Storyblocks Integration

LumaFusion users will now have direct access to the Storyblocks media library. There’s a huge resource of professional-quality video. Plus, as well as 4K and HD video clips, there’s also background music, loops and sound effects.

The entire library can be browsed and previewed and dozens of clips in each category are included free. Otherwise, there’s a “low-cost” subscription which can be cancelled at any time.

New features

LumaFusion v1.7 contains a range of new and updated features. To begin with, there’s easy cropping with soft edges – like setting a mask with feathering.

Added to this, every slider now has nudge buttons for more accurate control.

There’s new ways to arrange your library, so you can stay organised more efficiently.

Storyblocks – how does it work?

Under the Storyblocks tab, you’ll find royalty free content from Storyblocks.

LumaFusion with Storyblocks Integration

This includes footage, background, loops, music and sound FX. Thousands of Storyblocks clips can be viewed without a subscription, say LumaFusion, as long as you have an internet connection.

This subscription provides access to custom content through LumaFusion and is not connected with other Storyblocks subscriptions. Customers can still import media downloaded from the main Storyblocks site to LumaFusion.

Even without a subscription, there are dozens of clips and files which are free to use. There are also curated tags, sorting, special filters, and a quick search. Storyblocks also allows you to filter by model-release, property-release and editorial content.

Here’s a list of many of the new features

  • Sort and Search feature in the Library
  • The ability to select-all, as well as improved multi-select (swipe-to-select multiple clips) in the Library
  • Sort and Search in the Import popup menu
  • Edge softness and corner radius control for cropping in the Frame & Fit editor
  • “Nudge” buttons for sliders and rotation controls
  • 3 new effects: Thermal, X-Ray and Color Edges (in the Styles category of the Color and Effects editor)
  • 20 new professional title templates
  • Full Exif, TIFF, IPTC and PNG metadata for Photos in the Info panel
  • Zip file support (LumaFusion will import any supported files included in the .zip file including: media, fonts and presets)
  • New Cleanup functions in the Help/Settings menu to help you manage storage

Of course, none of this is of any use to use Android users. So we’ll be hanging in there and waiting for Adobe Rush to be developed into serious competition for LumaFusion.
