DJI Osmo Mobile 3 smartphone gimbal: LEAK
The DJI Osmo Mobile 2 is currently the biggest rival to Zhiyun’s Smooth 4 for the crown of most popular smartphone gimbal.

Looks like the gimbal’s handle has been redesigned for the new model. Apart from that, we can only guess about new functionality to look forward to from the DJI Osmo Mobile 3.
Apart from the modified, sculpted grip, one of the main improvements is the addition of USB-C. This will upgrade the Osmo Mobile 3 and keep it up to date.
One feature which seems to be becoming more popular in new gimbals is a folding design. And the Osmo Mobile 3 appears to follow that trend.
So, we can assume this feature is to appeal to those who want their gimbal more compact and transportable. For example, vloggers and travel video shooters. However, the Osmo Mobile 3 will accommodate thicker and wider phones as well as providing a wider range of rolling and tilting movements.
Reports say the new Osmo Mobile will also come equipped with Bluetooth Low Energy 5.0. Meanwhile, the controls will remain as in the Osmo Mobile 2 with two buttons, a unidirectional thumbstick and a slider switch. Oh and it looks like it’ll come in grey once more.
What do you think about the new design? Does it add enough to have you reaching once more for your wallet? To me, it seems like the smartphone gimbal market is getting pretty overloaded.
Feiyu Tech Vlog Pocket
Feiyu Tech recently released their low cost, lightweight gimbal which they’re calling the Vlog Pocket. The gimbal’s eagle wing-shaped folding design keeps it up with the times. The controls are simple, including the ability to easily switch between landscape and portrait mode.
One thing which sets this gimbal apart from the competition is the battery life, which runs up to 14 hours. This compares well with the Smooth 4 and Osmo Mobile 2 which both run up to 12 hours on a full battery. Other than that, the gimbal comes with similar features to previous gimbals, such as in-app controls like face and object tracking.
The gimbal can carry a payload of up to 240 grams, which compares well with the Zhiyun Smooth 4’s max of 210 grams. For reference, this is equal to the DJI Osmo Mobile 2’s max payload. Will the Mobile 3 come with an upgraded payload?
The Vlog Pocket also comes with a mini tripod which fixes to the base and can be folded in to extend the grip.
Meanwhile, the Moza Mini-S foldable gimbal now looks like the best buy gimbal of the year, with it’s 260 gram max payload and extremely competitive price point.
