Don’t forget to say hi!

Simon

Many online mobile videography courses are created by filmmakers actually only use regular cameras (DSLR or mirrorless). For this reason, they’re often pretty poor at conveying the nuances of mobile videography. Instead, they use their regular filmmaking knowledge and try to apply it to smartphones.

Unique Skills & Knowledge

While many basic filmmaking principles apply to mobile videography, there are notable exceptions.

For example, most smartphones now use a computational process called dynamic tone mapping. This enables a greater dynamic range, but in the case of iPhones also prevents full exposure control. With Android devices you can turn it off. But when is it right to do so? And how does one turn it off?

All these questions and more are answered in my video lessons which you can access as a member on Patreon.

Best Value

Online courses usually charge you by the course. If you join me on Patreon, you’ll get everything for $5. You’ll also get personal tips from me, customised to your particular needs.

I also teach mobile videography at university and for businesses. When you consider my fee for a in-person 1 day course would buy you roughly 20 years of Patreon membership, you know you’re getting a great deal. This is the advantage of crowdfunding online learning.

Learning the basics during my one-day course at Veolia UK.
