Festival Submissions Open!
The Mobile Motion Film Festival has opened submissions for MoMo 6, to be held next year. We accept films and screenplays (up to 10 pages) via the FilmFreeway platform. We haven’t changed too much, except to start submissions earlier.
Last year, we had 265 submissions in all categories. Certainly, we think we had some of the best submissions so far to the festival. There were quite a few films we really liked but which we weren’t able to show.
We had some wonderful feedback from filmmakers. And now, once again, we are proud to be in FilmFreeway’s top 100 festivals.
Here’s some of the feedback we got…
“One of the best experiences of my life! I am so glad I was in competition with such great talents from all over the world who brought their fresh ideas and visions with this wonderful tool! I am really really grateful to Andrea, Simon and the jury. If you shot a smartphone short and you’re thinking to subscribe it to some festivals, I strongly recommend this one!” Giordano Cagnin
“I can’t say enough good things about MOMO. As a first time filmmaker, I had a lot of dumb questions, but Andrea and Simon were so great at me helping out. I couldn’t attend the event but the constant updates though Twitter and Facebook really made us feel like we were a part of it.
While the MOMO festival is amazing, it’s a relatively small part of the year. For the rest of the time, the Momo website is constantly adding articles and tutorials that give mobile filmmakers the tools they need to make their own films. You can tell they really care about Mobile filmmakers and they are creating an ecosystem for people to thrive in.” Brian Vowles
“Such a great experience from start to finish! Amazing communication, fantastic venue, sold-out screenings, very friendly atmosphere… and it was a real pleasure meeting so many talented filmmakers from all around the world ! Many many thanks Simon, Andrea & all the MoMo team!” Christophe Granger
“Great communication, encouraging to their filmmakers and wonderful community they have built. We couldn’t attend the event, but felt like we were there with the consistent updates and reports via social media and email. And one of the few festivals priced to be indie friendly! Highly recommend to all mobile filmmakers!” Kipp Tribble
“The screenings were fabulous: the quality of the films was really great and I was very proud that my film was part of such a good competition! The place where the festival is held is beautiful and the venues were full. I could have stayed for more days!! Thank you Andrea and thank you Simon!” Marie-Stéphane Cattaneo
“I was thrilled to be selected in this niche and bold festival. I attended last minute, and I’m very glad I did. The programming was great, the people were wonderful and the venue was super!” Tara Hakim
“I’m glad to have participated in your festival and it is proud to me that the story of my country (Iran) has been read and chosen there. I hope to see each other in beautiful Switzerland soon.” Ashkan Chavoshi
There’s a lot of work involved in running this festival. But you the filmmakers, film lovers and film watchers, make it all worthwhile. We were very moved to see so many people at this year’s festival and can’t wait to see many of you again at the next one. Plus some new amazing smartphone filmmakers!
If your film is not yet ready, don’t worry! You still have until December 31, 2019 to submit. Make sure you don’t miss the final deadline for submissions by subscribing to our email updates below:
