Galaxy Note 9 or iPhone X? Android vs iPhone Camera Test

Renowned YouTuber Casey Neistat has been camera testing 2 heavy weights of smartphone video – the Galaxy Note 9 and the iPhone X. The first time I became aware of Casey was in the Samsung S8 advert which got a lot of attention. We screened it at MoMo a couple of years ago. It’s dynamic. It’s punchy. And it represents what we are – filmmakers who just make films to tell our own stories, the way we want to tell them.

What’s cool about the test is there’s nothing fancy about it. The phones are tested as they are, everything on auto. And no grading.

There’s probably not much difference. In one shot I noticed the auto exposure on the Samsung changing dramatically while the iPhone remained stable. This could be simply to do with the position of the phones. Or is the Samsung deliberately more sensitive?

All the shots are 4k. Until we get to the selfie cameras, which are in HD. Asking some nearby skaters which selfie camera is best, it’s a landslide in favour of the Samsung.

You can watch the full test below. The comments seem to favour the Samsung, again. Which one do you think edges it?
