How to Create a Spin Shot Transition with an iPhone
This is how to create a spin shot transition with your iPhone. It’s really fun and simple to do. This is a transition which cuts between 2 shots as the camera spins.
Start recording and move in on a subject. Then spin the camera with your wrist. Have a few goes and try to keep the camera centered on the object. Also, try to keep your movement as smooth as possible.
Now find another shot that you want to transition to.
Again, start the video recording on your iPhone. But for the second shot you need to move in just a little bit, then spin your iPhone and keep moving towards the new subject.
When we edit, we want the first shot to end on the spin and the second shot to start on the spin.
You can use any editing software, but I’ll use LumaFusion for this. Import the 2 shots and choose the best movement of each. We want to cut the first shot halfway through the spin.
For the second shot, we want to start halfway through the spin. Now we get a nice transition, but the second shot is upside down. So we need to rotate it 180 degrees.
Now you should get a nice fun video transition.
