NEW Lenovo Z6 Pro Introduces “Hyper Video”

The Lenovo Z6 Pro is arriving this month and will run on Snapdragon 855. The phone’s predecessor, the Z5 Pro, shipped with dual cameras, but it looks like the Z6 will have only one (although this hasn’t been confirmed).

The phone will also feature a filmmaking tech the company is calling “Hyper Video”.

From that teaser we might guess Hyper Video is a social media enhancer for making your videos more shareable. Traditionally, the term Hypervideo was used for video which was interactive. Wikipedia says Hypervideo is “a displayed video stream that contains embedded, interactive anchors, allowing navigation between video and other hypermedia elements.”

Lenovo say Hyper Video will be linked to the adoption of 5G, as a fast mobile network will better suit sharing videos than 4G. Sparrows News say the “Lenovo Z6 Pro will be equipped with 100 megapixel camera”.

Other reports says the camera will shoot video in a wide range of different formats. This will include super slow motion, super macro, super wide angle, and more. But how it intends to do this with a single camera lens is not clear.

We can be confident the camera will also have a range of different features for stills. Rumours say a night mode and stabilized shots are included, with presumably similar technology to what we’ve seen in the Huawei P30 Pro. At MWC, Lenovo also discussed the potential of a 100-megapixel camera, or 100-megapixel photos.

So far, the details are vague and the teasers even more… teaserish.

The Lenovo will be announce the Z6 Pro at an event in Beijing on April 23.

Even though Lenovo does not sell smartphones in the U.S., the Lenovo-owned company Motorola does. So the technology inside the Z6 Pro may arrive in the U.S. sometime in the future, inside a Motorola smartphone.

Motorola RAZR V4

Talking of Motorola, there have been recent leaks of a new foldable smartphone from them called the RAZR V4. If the rumours are true, Motorola are using the foldable tech to make a regular sized smartphone foldable into something smaller. This is in contrast to Samsung and others using foldable screens to “unwrap” your smartphone into a small tablet.
